“Lindsey Alley and Rick Leonard are consummate professionals in the art of cabaret performance, and their artistic residence changed the lives of our students.”

-Dr. David A. Crespy, Professor of Playwriting, Acting, & Dramatic Literature, University of Missouri-Columbia

After growing up in front of the camera, Lindsey went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts in theatre from the University of Missouri-Columbia.  In New York City, she trained with Suzanne Esper at the William Esper Studio, and with Diana Castle at the Imagined Life Studio in Los Angeles.

Lindsey's musical director, Rick Leonard, has 40 years of musical direction and performance experience, and has directed headlining acts and cabaret luminaries such as Sally Struthers, Kimberley Locke and Belinda Carlisle.

Together, Rick and Lindsey have developed a student-focused workshop that they perform in conjunction with their cabaret shows. They have an incredible rapport with students, sharing their personal experiences and offering an accessible approach to the students' work as young artists.

“At East Central University we bring in acts from across the United States.  Never have we received such overwhelming positive audience responses than when Lindsey Alley and Rick Leonard performed her one-woman show, “Blood, Sweat, and Mouseketears.”

-Kurt Edwards, Assistant Professor of Theatre, East Central University

"Lindsey Alley and Rick Leonard are bravura and seasoned talents separately - put them together and they are an explosion of music and laughter.  Their performances are Broadway and HBO worthy, and their workshops are

intensive, compassionate and inspiring.  Our students were impressed with Lindsey and Rick as performers, teachers, and, especially as down-to-earth, no-nonsense professionals."

-James M. Miller, Professor of Theatre
